I loved this book! I've read it so many times, I can practically read it in my sleep! Newly widowed Marty is forced to marry a stranger, Clark, or be stranded on the open prairie through the winter with only a covered wagon for shelter. Clark promises that he'll pay her way to go back east in the spring, if only she'll take his daughter, Missy, with her. They start out their marriage of convienence resentful of each other, but slowly begin to realize that it wasn't just fate that brought them together.
