Season One

#1-"The Pilot"

Airdate 1/1/1993
After her father's death and the loss of her patients, Dr. Mike leaves Boston and heads to Colorado Springs. She meets a lot of resistence from the town people, but slowly starts to win them over. She also finds herself the proud parent of the three Cooper children, who lose their mother to a rattlesnake bite.

#2-"Epidemic"

Airdate 1/2/1993
One of Olive's cowhands brings back influenza with him from
New Mexico. Dr. Mike then converts the boarding house into a clinic, and begins to fight 'the grippe'. After running out of medicine, Dr. Mike gets sick too. With the help of Sully, Cloud Dancing and Matthew, Michaela is saved with an Indian rememdy. While she lay sleeping on her sick-bed, Sully kisses Michaela for the first time.

#3-"The Visitor"

Airdate 1/9/1993
The epidemic is over, and the stagecoach returns. With it comes a representative of 'The First National Bank of Denver' and Michaela's mother. Robert E is burned badly, and as Dr. Mike fights for his life, she must also fight for the clinic. She also learns to understand her mother better, and Elizabeth gives her the money to buy the clinic.

#4-"The Law of the Land"

Airdate 1/16/1993
In this episode, Johnny Cash is introduced as 'Kid Cole' an
ex-gunfighter with tuberculosis who is looking for a quiet place to settle down and "plant a few rose bushes". Matthew and Ingrid's brother slaughter one of Olive's cows, and Jon is shot. The town hires Kid on as sheriff, and Jon goes on trial. In the end, Olive drops the charges and Kid leaves town.

#5-"The Healing"

Airdate 1/23/1993
Loren is helping move a piano and ends up with a hernia, which he refuses to let Dr. Mike opperate on. In the meantime he finds the deed to the land that hold's Sully's house. He tells Sully that the property is his, and Michaela
and the kids make plans to move to town. Loren passes out, and Olive gives Dr. Mike permission to opperate. The surgery is a success, but Loren requires a blood transfusion. Sully donates his, and in return Loren gives the deed to Sully.

#6-"Father's Day"

Airdate 1/30/1993
Ethan Cooper returns to claim his children and take them back to San Francisco, even inviting Dr. Mike. In the meantime the town plans a 'Founder's Day' auction to raise money for the new school. Ethan steals the money and takes off on the horse he sold to Sully. Sully catches him and retrieves the money, but he and Michaela let Ethan go. They don't want to upset the kids, so Sully write a letter from Ethan telling the kids he has to return to San Francisco because his buisiness is in trouble.

#7-"Bad Water"

Airdate 2/6/1993
After several people come down with mercury poisoning, Michaela and Sully go out to prove that Mr. Harding (a rich mine owner) is dumping it into the stream. Michaela has just confirmed that the water is being polluted, when they are captured by Harding's men. In the meantime a search party goes after Mike and Sully, when her horse returns without her. After saving Harding's son from the poisoning, Harding releases Sully and Mike and promises to not dump the wastes into the stream. Sully and Mike then catch up with the search party, who triumphantly "lead" them home (with Sully's help). They then partake of a celebration at Grace's new cafe.

#8-"The Great American Medicine Show"

Airdate 2/13/1993
Doc Eli, a Civil War surgeon, running from his memories, comes to town with his Medicine Show. Dr. Mike, thinking he's a fake, tries to make him leave town. In the end, she realizes he is a doctor and convinces him to help proform surgery on Myra, who has an ovarian cyst.

#9-"Cowboy's Lullaby"

Airdate 2/20/1993
Dr. Mike takes in an out-of-work cowboy with a sick half-breed baby. McCall, though he loves his son, is desperate because nobody will give him a job when they see his baby. He ends up robbing Loren and leaving the baby with Michaela.
While Michaela tries to find a good home for the baby, Sully
finds McCall and gets the money back. He also tells McCall that he would never abandon a child of his. Just as Michaela
decides to keep the baby, McCall returns to claim him. He names the baby 'Mike' after Dr. Mike.

#10-"Running Ghost"

Airdate 2/27/1993
The railroad sends a man named Rankin to kill off the buffalo to get the Indians off the land that they plan to use. After an Indian, who goes after Rankin, never returns Sully goes to Rankin himself. Rankin has him beaten and leaves him for dead. Cloud Dancing finds him and brings him to Michaela.Meanwhile, in town, a man named Thaddeus Birch is swindling the town of their property, pretending to be from the railroad. Horace, with Michaela's help, unmasks his plan and saves everyones property. Sully recovers and goes after Rankin, who is killed by a buffalo after fighting with Sully.

#11-"The Prisoner"

Airdate 3/13/1993
After ambushing The Indian camp, Custer brings a few Indian prisoners back to town, including Cloud Dancing. Sully and Michaela help him escape. Meanwhile, in town, Olive opens a Hurdy Gurdy and hires a bunch of immigrant girls to dance. Matthew buys all of Ingrid's tickets, then admits he doesn't know how to dance.

#12-"Happy Birthday"

Airdate 3/27/1993
As Michaela's 35th birthday approaches, she becomes depressed because she has yet to marry. The kids, wanting to help, set out to find her a husband and throw her a surprise party. Meanwhile, a man dies from blood poisoning after being cut by Jake's razor. After Dr. Mike accuses him, Jake goes on a drinking binge. Dr. Mike then tries to pull him out of it, but he had to realize his own need to sober up. At her birthday party, Sully kisses Michaela...this time she's awake!

#13-Rite of Passage"

Airdate 4/10/1993
Michaela becomes quite upset when Matthew suddenly announces
his plans to marry Ingrid. She tells him that he is too young and tries to push him to attend college. Out to prove he is a man, he goes on a 'vision quest'. Michaela realizes she is wrong, and Matthew realizes that he is young. They decide to become engaged for now, and Michaela gives them her engagement ring from David.

#14-"Heroes"

Airdate 5/1/1993
After reading a serial romance story and being rescued by Sully, Colleen developes quite the crush on him. She makes an elaborate plan to be recued by him again. Sending him a note, via a messenger (Horace's nephew, who likes her) she goes and waits for him in an abandoned mine. Lewis, however can't find Sully, and is unable to deliver the message. Michaela becomes worried when Colleen doesn't come home, and she and Sully set out to find her. She ends up with badly frostbitten hands and a realization that Sully will never be her "man".

#15-"The Operation"

Airdate 5/8/1993
While out with Sully, Brian jumps from a tree, while trying to fly, and hits the side of his head. At first he seems O.K., but later begins to have headaches and loses his sight. While waiting for a specialist, Brian slips into a coma forcing Michaela to perform the brain surgery herself.
Meanwhile, the townspeople build the schoolhouse.

#16-"The Secret"

Airdate 5/15/1993
When Sully and Michaela go to check on the absent Mrs. Johnson, they discover her dead and a boy hiding in the closet. Michaela takes the boy in while she tries to pry information out of the townpeople about him. It turns out that Zach is the son of a whore , and was sent to live with Mrs. Johnson when his mother died. Hank eventually admits that Zack is his son, and he is eventually sent to an art school in Denver.

#17-"Portraits"

Airdate 5/22/1993
A Civil War photographer, Daniel Watkins, comes to town to photograph local surroundings. Michaela diagnoses him with diabetes, but he refuses treatment even though he will eventually go blind. Watkins wants to take a picture of the whole town, and that causes major arguments on who should be allowed in the picture. The fisrt attempt at a picture results in a broken camera. When the picture is finally taken the Immagrants and Indians are allowed in the picture.
